A SOLDIER, A HUSBAND, A FATHER, A SON
      My first born son grew up into a man before I knew that life had passed me by. As my son, he was very inquisitive and I do believe he followed in my footsteps. He was very smart in school, putting his teachers on the spot by excelling past their capacity. He always had a gift for building things starting at the age of two by building, “Can Castle” out of his mother’s canned goods. He loves to work with his hands and builds wonderful pieces of furniture out of wood. He has always thought up fantastic stories of superheroes and worlds of spectacular fantasy. These traits have never left him and continue still today.

 After graduation, he enlisted into the military, “The Paratroop Rangers” and toured Afghanistan by jumping out of a plane in full military gear, right after 9/11. Soon after, he met a beautiful woman and wouldn’t let her get away. They were married and now have two children. My son idolizes his wife but with the economy being in the state of ruin, he decided to reenlist in the military, to make it a career. With the job, the military comes first. The military is his life but his family is his love. Every spare minute is attending to his home duties, his wife and having fun with his children. He is also close to his own family, his four siblings, his mother and me. He always tries to remember Father’s Day, my birthday, Christmas and Easter, but we all know that time and life seems to get in the way.
 As a husband, he is by his wife’s side, giving her the best of himself and what he can afford. They go on weekend excursions or vacations with the children, exploring the beauty of the world and visiting family. This is something that I wish I could have done.
 As a father, he still uses his imagination to make up games or quests for his children to play. He makes monsters and villains for them to fight and hides trinkets for them to find, all the while having a story line to follow. He will take the kids on adventures and teaches them, as all true fathers do.
 As a soldier, my son is a credit to his company, by the trade that he provides. They put him through college courses and he works long hours (like his father) to get the job done to his satisfaction. He makes a good living as a soldier and will retire at an early age with a full pension. Then his wife and his family will most definitely be his top priority.
 My son is a soldier. He is a loving husband and he is a wonderful father for his children. But most of all, he is “My Son”, a great man in my eyes. A reflection of myself but better.
 I could not be any more proud of him then I am today.
 With All My Love;
 Your Dad
