Writing Class 101

Good day to all, Each lesson starts with a paragraph, then click read more on the right side. At the bottom it will say previous or forward in small, faint letters for more pages.

I'd like to invite you to join my newsletter. It's a short ten minute read every Tuesday that will help you with your writing questions and might even inspire you to write. I may not know everything there is, but I want to share my knowledge with you for FREE!

Inside the weekly newsletters I have included everything that I've learned on how to write, what to write, when to write, and ways to market and ultimately publish your books.

Do you have any your inspirational questions? Maybe I can help!

Lesson 52
Finale

Happy New Year! A few more days to close out the year, and I just want to say that I have had fun. Did you make your New Year’s resolution, yet? Did you start it, yet? I am going to try and buckle down on my writings, and drawings. Many years have come and gone, rushing by us like a freight train through our busy lives. My books are plentiful, and our grandson will be finishing his second trimester in his fourth year in college. We are so proud. I have like thirty books written, sitting on my desk for five years now, and still not published. (Artwork, you know on some.)

Lesson 51
Christmas

MERRY CHRISTMAS, or Happy Holidays if that’s your thing. It is now a time to be jolly, and share your love, and compassion to your fellow human-beings. I do this all year long, but these days helps to reassure the thought. This week’s lesson has to deal with rejection, or someone not liking your work. It will be their loss when you become famous. This time of year is also the heaviest on sorrow. Depression sets in, because the days are shorter, or we didn’t get things accomplished all year. Forget all of that nonsense. It is just another day, and here is why.

Shopping

I don’t remember if I ever gave you the titles of some books that may help your career. I am also too lazy to go back through the lessons, so maybe you already know. If not, here you go.
Maybe you have your book done, and you are too scared to take on the publishing hat on your own. I hear yah. I tried all these things out too.

Lesson 49
Building a Market

Welcome back to another day. Through the year I think I gave you plenty of things to ponder. Sometimes I may have repeated myself from one class to the other, or maybe I have even forgotten to write a class that would really help. This, I have no control over. They were just random thoughts in my head that I wanted to share with other authors, so they could better themselves, and learn from my mistakes. This week is no different. It is again, just food for thought. Sooooooo, here we go.

Lesson 48
Hats

Welcome back to another class. It is December and the air is changing. You have worked all year and hopefully have your book ready for the Christmas sales. Or maybe you’re already on your second, or third book, and can sell a box set. If not, there is always next year. Today I want to give you some food for thought. So, let’s just jump right into it.
What hat do you wear? As an author, we can wear many different types of hats during our career. Let’s make a list.

Lesson 47
Words

Another week has come and gone, and another class given. Words are how we want to make a living, and it is up to us to do our very best. It has been almost a full year, and I hope you have learned at least something from my posts, or at the least, had a good laugh.
As an author, I have noticed more and more that people are not so interested in how it is written, but how it is said. Let me explain. On my way to work the other day, I saw a license plate frame that said, (Don’t worry, God’s got it covered.) Now it’s a very nice gesture, and I

Lesson 46
Thanksgiving
This week is Thanksgiving here. A day started by our ancestors to give thanks for a bountiful harvest. Where ever you are, celebrate with friends and family, and give thanks for what you have. Bring joy to others by sharing your love, and your writing talent that will bring joy to so many. Now back to class.
Today I want to share a lot of sites that I have found that may help you, and you can decide for yourself if they are useful. These are in no particular order, and you can pick and choose for yourself.

 Lesson 45
Surprising Market
It is my Birthday week. Happy Birthday to me. Thank you all for the best wishes. It is no great feat to reach another year older, it’s just another day. So, let’s get started.
Another week has come and gone, and we are back once again learning little tidbits on how the system works. Is your book done, or are you just starting? Did you find an editor, cover design, publisher, or agent, or are you stuck in the middle in need for more inspiration? This lesson may not help you, today, but it will give you some food for thought. It certainly was an eye-opener for me.

 My view on vanity publishers
Welcome back to another lesson. Did you vote? I did, so let’s get back to class. First I want to apologize if you did not receive last week’s lesson or you received it a few times. I don’t know why, but my computer kept rejecting it, so I had to send each email individually and still some were not sent. Hopefully this one will go through.

Promo

Welcome back to class. Things are busy on the home front with writing, promoting, and searching for new information. I hope you have found plenty of other sites to help further your career in writing. After reading questions on group pages, I decided to share a promo that I made up for one of my books. These can be posted to draw people into purchasing your book. Some days I just go off with a random thought, and this is what I came up with. Let’s begin.
