Happy New Year:
It is a whole new year, and this is my resolution. I want to share with all my friends each week with a sample, or should I say, a promotion for all my books that I have published. I had writing classes sent and posted each week on my website, all of last year, and they asked that I would continue. I think my post will not only entertain, but help fill future authors with inspiration and ideas.
If you don’t want to miss out on any contact, because Facebook is too fickle, please go to rickkurtisbooks.com and sign up for my newsletters which will be sent to you by email. Then you can enjoy at your leisure, block, ignore, or place me in spam.

My first post will be my first book, the one given to me by God in the form of a dream. I will always put him first. So here we go. Enjoy.
Day of the Cross, a boy who walked with Christ. / God works in mysterious ways. Over thirty years ago I had a dream where I walked with Jesus. It felt so peaceful, and restful at first. Then things began to change. You would’ve thought that I would have woke up when things began to happen, but I continued to dream. I waited for his return after his crucifixion, and woke up in the dream, in a white, pitched tent. When I came out from the tent into the crisp morning air, a layer of thick, white fog surrounded the area. An extremely bright light walked through the fog, and approached. There stood Jesus, after his resurrection, right in front of me. I fell to his feet, and wept. [I am tearing up as I speak, right now.] Kissing his feet and praising him, I cried for forgiveness, and asked him what I could do. Before Jesus could say anything, I woke up from my dream, crying.
At that time in my life, I had no turmoil, no struggle, or complaints. I had a good job, and my children. It wasn’t Easter, or Christmas. I thought I was content. After calming down, sitting on my bed at four in the morning, I reached for a pen and paper, and wrote down as much as I could remember, and promise to share my dream with everyone I could.
There it sat, traveling from house to house in a drawer of miscellaneous papers. Thirty years later, I began writing short stories to help my grandchildren to read. This led into taking writing courses and pulling out my lost memories, and once again my dream surfaced. Knowing very little about publishing, or even writing, I managed to put my thoughts into a readable story using a boy by the name of Billy. When doing so, it sparked my imagination into continuing the young lad story who walked with Christ, and I outlined to more books to follow, while writing fifty other books.
I researched the Bible in order to find passages and evidence of a child being there, hence tying my character to the Bible. I have since published Day of the Cross, a boy who walked with Christ, which is available for your review. It is on sale on Amazon, and Kindle select.
I was that boy, and I still feel it deep in my heart, today. Day of the Cross II, preparing for Christ is the second book of the series, and also available on Amazon and Kindle. Day of the Cross III, Judgment Is at Hand is also complete and for sale.
Whether you believe in God or not, these books will make you think. Like the presidency, people will be divided and full of controversy. My view may not be the same as yours, but you will never know until you pick up your very own copy of one of my books.
Have a joyous week from rickkurtisbooks.com. Give me a like, a share, or drop me a comment below. Facebook wants me to buy advertising, and only shares my post with 5 to 12 people, or friends. So please try to share with your friends in order to spread the good news. For those of you who have already bought my books, I thank you, and greatly appreciate your loyalty. Another big help for every author would be after reading a book, please take a moment to post a review on Amazon. Thank you, and have a blessed day.

This was all about to change. One person had been chosen to find his way. Through powers beyond our comprehension, this one small boy would save millions of lost souls throughout the world….

….When the sun peeked over the horizon, Billy woke up. He walked down to the lake to wash his face and to get a drink.
Billy took a drink and heard Jesus’s voice behind him. “Are you ready, my son?”
Billy turned and stood up. There in front of him stood Jesus in all his glory. Billy started to cry and fell to the ground in front of him and kissed his feet. Jesus touched Billy on his shoulder and said, “Come, walk with me. It’s time for you to go back.”
Billy stood up and walked once again with Jesus and asked, “What do I do, Lord? Who is going to listen to a thirteen-year-old boy?”
Jesus answered, “You tell them nothing, or you will be committed. You go back to school and learn, teach others what I have taught you. You will know when the time is right. When you are about twenty-four, you will start your own ministry in my name, and for many years you will prepare the world for my arrival. I will come down and meet with you then. This too has all been planned, and you, my son, can choose.”
Billy turned to Jesus, “I’ll try, my Lord. I’ll try.”
Jesus continued to walk along the water’s edge. He picked up a stick, stopped to make some swirls in the water. While the blue water swirled, Blue Jack City formed in the water and Jesus said, “Remember, I will be with you, and if you are in need of answers, just pray.”…
